In the mid 60's Bell Bottoms became fashionable for both men and women in Europe and North America. They were usually made of Denim. The pants flared out from the bottom of the calf. They had a circumference of 18 inches which is 48 cm. They were usually worn with Cuban Heeled shoes, clogs or Chelsea boots. By 1967 Bell Bottoms had moved from High Fashion to part of the hippie counter culture movement, a style exemplified by love beads, granny glasses and tie-dye shirts. Then throughout the years Bell Bottoms would fade away from fashion but then come back into the scene. By 2006, Bell Bottoms started to fade as the skinny jean rose into popularity. Bell bottoms are still around but are rarely seen in today's society.
